At RACINES, we choose objects meant to be used every day, that belong naturally in the home and in family life, and that allow children to participate fully, with confidence and autonomy.

Why Montessori

We draw inspiration from Montessori principles because they place the child at the center of their own development, with respect and trust.

This approach values learning through experience. Touching, moving, repeating, and exploring are essential to how children grow and understand the world. Rather than directing, distracting or overstimulating, adults offer appropriate tools and allow children the space to try, practice, and progress at their own pace.

At RACINES, this translates into a selection of simple, intentional objects designed to support independence and confidence, without rigid expectations or imposed outcomes.

Materials & Quality

The materials we choose are an essential part of the child’s experience.

We prioritize natural, durable, and safe materials, not only for their strength, but for what they convey. The weight
of wood, the texture of fibers, and the simplicity of form invite a more mindful relationship with objects.

Materials and finishes are selected to withstand real use over time. We favor objects designed to last, and ideally, to be passed on rather than replaced.

Hi, we’re Charline and Jonathan, founders of RACINES.

RACINES is a family-run business born from our reflections on how we want to live with our children.

Inspired by real life (and all of its challenges), our shared daily moments, and a desire to do things differently, we hope to support families like ours who want to live beautiful, meaningful lives full of adventures with their little ones.
