A set for your confident and independent toddler that likes to help out setting the table.
Made in France from tempered glass, this set is designed for daily use at the family table.
Why we chose it
- Made from tempered glass, more resistant than ordinary glass (will break into dull fragments, not sharp shards).
- Small proportions make these items manageable for small hands.
- Stackable for simple storage.
- Dishwasher and microwave safe.
The set includes:
Cup 160ml
A natural next step for growing children and larger drinks.
Bowl - Pick one
13.5cm (with handles)
A transitional bowl that offers extra support for carrying, soups, and everyday meals.
14cm
A larger bowl for growing appetites, mixed meals, and family-style eating as children gain confidence at the table.
Plate 23.5cm
A full-size plate for older children or families who prefer using the same tableware throughout the home.
A note on glass and toddlers
In Montessori-inspired homes, children are often offered real materials from an early age. Glass has weight, requires care, and helps children understand cause and effect through everyday experience.
Tempered glass is more resistant than ordinary glass, but like all real materials, it can still break. We recommend introducing open glasses gradually and with supervision.
Spills and occasional breakage are part of learning. Over time, children develop coordination, awareness, and confidence through everyday practice.
Tips for introducing open cup drinking
- Start early. Many children can begin exploring an open cup around 6 months with assistance and very small amounts of water.
- Start with minimal liquid. Using only a small amount helps reduce spills and allows the child to focus on the movement itself.
- Use real materials: Glass or ceramic cups are preferred as they allow the child to feel the weight of the water and understand the consequence of knocking it over.
- Model the behavior. Slowly demonstrate how to lift the cup with two hands, take a sip, and set it down gently on the table.
- Embrace the mess. Spills are part of the learning process. Keep a towel nearby and remain calm when there are spills. This helps build your child's confidence. You can also model cleaning up and involve your toddler in the cleanup.
